While in the f2p i can relax but usually briefly until i realize i need to start maximizing my profit to be able to go to the next location. Ive seen people describe the pay version as a relaxing game. When it becomes like work and there is another version that is less like work, its worth the $40 to me. Once i felt (like i do every othwr time i play) that it has become me doing things i do not enjoy and constantly trying to maximize my profita with "am i having fun" on the back burner, is when i bought the paid version. I didnt make enough to buy the net, and didnt get enough xp to level to get the net either. I came back today justat in time to fish another ingame day or two before my license expired i was so dissapointed that i had lost money on the trip, because i was almost level enough to buy a bigger net.

I FORCED myself to fill the net day after day(in game) in the hopes i could recoup my expenses of travel and license costs. I fished a few days(in game) with the in game currency always on my mind.

In terms of fishing simulators, this is probably the most extensive and realistic one I've played yet. There's a lot to keep track of in Fishing Planet, such as which bait to use to snatch certain fish, the rod or reel that'll help you get a bigger and better catch, the time of day and type of weather that allows for the best bites, etc. Players buy fishing licenses in order to travel to such exotic places as Missouri, the Czech Republic, or Alberta, and then try to complete various missions to get more credits or the alternate currency called "Baitcoin" to buy gear, bait, and more licenses.
