Most arenas represent well-known cities such as New York, Paris or Moscow. There is a wide range of vehicles to choose from with different characteristics, each with one unique weapon at its disposal. The arenas are small enough and the encounter of opponents is aimed at the effective and complete destruction of the enemy. However, the Twisted Metal series differs from Carmageddon in one atmospheric function - it is much closer to Deathmatch than any other similar game.
The essence is the same - a large (or not), a tooth-armed car, an arena and a number of contenders for the main prize. While the whole world enthusiastically knocked down pedestrians in Carmageddon, somewhere in the background, the very original and cute Twisted Metal project disappeared, but it absolutely deserved attention.
